Classroom
Management Philosophy
My
classroom environment with be a positive and creative place that
encourages all different kinds of learning. I will always
communicate with my students by giving them feedback about their work
both verbally and in writing. They will be well aware of my
expectations and have expectations set up for themselves as well. I
will make sure that every student is able to have one on one
interaction with me in order to maintain a good relationship that
makes them feel valued. In my classroom, there will be a wide range
of activities for all of my students to have the greatest chance of
learning material. By doing this, I will be acknowledging and
accommodating different learning styles and focusing on
differentiated instruction. In order to create this optimal
learning environment for my classroom, I will:
- Form personal relationships with students and parents by sending home weekly newsletters and biweekly emails.
- Include my students in discussions about their learning and ask for feedback about what we are doing in class.
- Offer different ways to master a task by using differentiated instruction and referencing multiple intelligences.
- Treat everyone in the classroom the same. We are a family and need to include everyone.
- Create fun and exciting lessons to keep my students and myself engaged.
- Ask my students about their lives on a daily basis. Also, I will give each of my students a chance to share about their lives with their classmates during circle share time.
- Let my students know that I expect them to be responsible for themselves. They are in charge of the choices they make on a daily basis.
- Be consistent when it comes to behavior. If a behavior is not okay one day it will not be okay the next day either.
- Respect my students and treat them the way I would like to be treated. I will not raise my voice in the classroom. They will be expected to follow various cues when they are acting inappropriately in order to get back on track.
- Treat everyday like a new beginning because students need to know that mistakes are made and it is important to grow from those experiences.
